Floating Youth Support Worker

Could you assist young people to build the skills and confidence to find, set up and maintain their own homes in the community?

Keenan Recruitment has been retained by a leading charity that supports young people aged 16-25 in the community who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or need help maintaining their tenancy. Floating Support Workers support on average 15 young people, who receive individualised support based on support planning ongoing assessment/review and keeping safe were appropriate.

Position: Floating Support Worker.

Available Locations: Belfast, Lisburn and Downpatrick. 

Hours: 35 hours per week.

Pay: £14.04 per hour. 

Role Overview: Youth Floating Support Worker support young people to build the skills and confidence to maintain their own homes. Young people will receive individualised support based on support planning, ongoing assessment/review and keeping safe were appropriate. 

The role of Youth Support Worker is to provide a range of interventions to assist young people aged 16-25 to access and/or maintain their own accommodation in the community. 
 

Essential Criteria for shortlisting for interview includes a full, current driving license and access to a car insured for business use and either:

• 1 years’ experience of working with young people in supported housing or community-based support or similar environment OR Degree in Social Work, Youth and Community Work or similar AND 6 months experience of working with young people in supported housing or community-based support.
• Experience of assessing risk and safety planning in order to keep young people safe.
• Experience of assessing need and support planning for young people. 
• Experience of working with homelessness.
